This hybrid workout class combines ballet-inspired movements with elements of pilates, dance, yoga and strength training. Barre focuses on high repetitions of small range movements. The class incorporates a ballet barre and uses classic dance moves such as plies, alongside static stretches. You can use a counter, side of a couch, dresser or even the wall in lieu of a barre if one isn’t available. The low-impact workout open to all fitness levels focuses on proper alignment, flexibility, balance and core conditioning in a total body workout that targets the hips, glutes, abs, and arms. You will need a set of light hand weights or other weighted objects.
