Independent practice providers

Independent practice providers are Primary Care Providers (PCP) who work out of their own private offices.
Primary Care Providers in the independent practice network
A list of providers can be found by using the VHP Provider Search Tool.
Specialists
Independent Practice Provider patients will be referred by their Primary Care Provider or other approved VHP Plan Provider to see a Network Specialist. VHP Members choosing the Independent Practice Providers will receive their specialty care through Valley Specialty Center at SCVMC. Once approved, you will be given information on how to schedule an appointment with the specialist.
Laboratory
Independent Practice Provider patients are covered within VHP Network Laboratories. To find the Laboratories available through VHP, go to the Provider Search, choose your type of plan, and choose Laboratory on the drop-down menu.
Pharmacy
Independent Practice Provider patients are covered within VHP Plan Pharmacy Network. To find the Pharmacies available through VHP, go to the Provider Search, choose your type of plan, and choose Pharmacy on the drop-down menu.
Urgent care locations
Independent Practice Provider patients are covered within VHP Network Urgent Care Locations. SCVMC patients are covered within VHP Plan Urgent Care Network. To find the Urgent Care locations available through VHP, go to the Provider Search, choose your type of plan, and choose Urgent Care on the drop-down menu.
Emergency care
Independent Practice Provider patients are covered within VHP Network Plan Hospitals. SCVM patients are covered within VHP Plan Hospital Network. To find the hospitals available through VHP, go to the Provider Search, choose your type of plan, and choose Hospital on the drop-down menu.
In the event of an emergency and you cannot safely come to a Plan hospital, you should call 911 or seek care at the closest hospital.
